Kurtis Came up for rehoming in 2004, he was at the time 10 years old.  Not many people are prepared to take in an old dog so I agreed as a last resort to take him in on a short term foster home basis.  However after 6 months of no new home coming available we decided to keep him on permanently.  He lost a little bit of weight and he developed some strange episodes of what appeared like exhaustion.  Extensive testing showed he had developed a condition common in older dogs called Mitral Valve Disease.  Despite this he continued to do very well.  He could  not tolerate long walks, especially when it was cold.  He was loving, devoted to his new home and was a pleasure to live with.

Kurtis  lived out the remainder of his life with us - it was a pleasure to have him.
